If you like a male lead who is a self-centered, self-serving, egotistical prick and a female lead who falls in love with a guy who has tormented her since preschool, constantly belittles her skills, sees her only as a gopher to him, and plans to destroy her business, then you will love this book. Otherwise, take a pass!

Know the author has terrible guys in this series-A Neighbor from Hell-but, this one was just too much. I can't tell you how many times I threw up my hands in anger and frustration while trying to finish this book. Not sure how this author considers this a "romance."

LRJ = Little Rory James

This is the first Neighbor from Hell novel I've read, and I am officially a FAN! I LOVED Rory & Conner! They were sooo precious! I'm looking forward to reading more about the Bradfords! They sound really interesting!

So for the last 25 years, Conner and Rory have played pranks on each other, each one determined to get back at the other by embarassing one another or making their life miserable. Even though they were both obviously used to their game and willing participates, I still felt anxious about it. I just didn't want to see one of them lose or be broken. Still, their antics were pretty hilarious!

I LOVED seeing them get closer! First, Conner taking care of her when she got hurt, then the deal (that made me very nervous at first because I just couldn't understand how he thought that wouldn't hurt her), and then the courtship! I LOVED their relationship!!

OMG - the intimate scenes ... Wow! Very, very steamy! ... Just WOW!

Another thing that I LOVED about this book is seeing how they live their life - always fighting for themselves, getting banned from places, getting arrested and then needing bailed out - it was just soooo funny! Maybe this outlook is a bad influence on me...

Conner loves Rory!!
Okay, I didn't enjoy the first half of this book much at all. This is an enemy to lovers story, and has a lot of the normal NFH humor, but Rory & Connor take prank wars to a level that is just beyond... beyond. They're MEAN to each other, and that I couldn't handle very well. (Sidenote here - THEY didn't think they were being mean. They were each playing a game & they seemed to enjoy it. I just found a lot of their interactions or pranks mean.)

So, for me, the first half of the book was not a winner at all.

However, the last 30% or so was SOOOO GOOOD! They still had the "fight" to them, but the affection for each other was more obvious & they weren't being mean. Plus, the Bradford cousins showed up & THAT brought a lot of extra fun into the mix.

I ended the story with mixed emotions. I don't think I could re-read this one because of the beginning, but I did end up happy at the end! )
I've read the first two books in the Neighbor From Hell series and I loved them. I really enjoyed the writing style and how the girls seemed like normal girls that you would see on the street. I also enjoyed that the books weren't so corny and the guys didn't "fall in love at first sight". Another thing I liked about the series is the humor and that it wasn't too much.
Now for this book. It seemed like the author just threw everything out the window in writing this one. Besides bringing the Bradford men back and making them annoying x 100. I absolutely hated Connor. There was no way I could like him after in a flashback he and his friends would spit in Rory's food and drink. I mean really? That is just plain disgusting. Even as an adult he hadn't grown up and still played cruel jokes on her. It made me feel like he never really loved her.
Rory. Hot cocoa. Could you beat a dead horse any more?? I swear every page had a mention of hot cocoa. It was just so annoying. It was like it was crack to her. Maybe the author thought it would be cute and quirky but it was just annoying.
I did skip through a lot of the book because I didn't like the flashback scenes. They were pretty ridiculous. Like most of the plot. The family being banned from restaurants, Rory and Connor being banned from being in the same building, how many times they ended up in jail, how Trevor and Jason ate all the food in Connor and Rory's house in just one night, the stupid part where Jason ate potpourri and was okay with it. I rolled my eyes so much in this book. I enjoyed Trevor and Jason in their own books but please stop bringing them back and making them 5x more annoying each time. There is only so much "bastard" and fiending for food I can handle. I found it weird the author went from the shy and nerdy girls in the first two books and then in this one Rory looks like a "Playboy model" who runs her own construction business and that guys just used her. That is a huge eye roll.
If you're considering reading the Neighbor from Hell series, I would say skip this one and stick with the first two. Those ones are really great. This one is great if you enjoy reading about hot cocoa every page.
